Japan - the Premium Cultural Ski Destination
Winter 2008-09 is the third season British tour operators have been selling skiing in Japan. British winter sports fans can now book Japan holidays with most major winter sports tour operators including Inghams, Crystal, Ski Independence and, new for winter 2008-09, Kuoni. Japan has long been popular for its futuristic high-tech cities and ancient cities with exquisite gardens and temples, but its fantastic winter resorts have been a well kept secret. For at least four months every year Japan has some of the best and most reliable snowfalls in the world. There are huge amounts of fresh powder snow every day and there’s no need for a helicopter to get to it – all you need is a lift ticket.
Visit the Japan stand (booth G70) at this year’s Metro Ski & Snowboard Show to find out where to ski and board in Japan, what great value Japanese winter resorts are, winter festivals to combine with your trip, where to stay and how to combine a city break in Tokyo or Kyoto as part of your trip. On the Japan stand will be representatives from the Japan National Tourist Organization, the snow sports mecca of Hokkaido and Japan’s ancient capital, Kyoto. The Japan stand will have a wide range of free maps and brochures for visitors to take away as well as information about Japan skiing and snowboarding packages on offer from tour operators such as AWL Travel, Emerald Global, Inside Japan Tours, Into Japan, Skiworld( launch this season ), Travel Skiplan, Pinnacle and many more. This winter Kyoto will be running a special winter campaign with exciting offers and events. Stop by the Japan stand to find out full details.
